Students Pledge News Dt 27.01.2022 – Condemning the brutal police attack on the RRB-NTPC aspirants in Patna, Bihar and Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, General Secretary of AIDSO, Sourav Ghosh issues the following statement to the press:
“Brutal lathicharge by the police on the students who were protesting peacefully against the irregularities in
RRB-NTPC examinations, exposes not only the undemocratic and inhumane character of the government
machinery but also the real face of the central government as well as the different state governments who
boast loud about the developments happened in their period and about their grave concern towards the
unemployed youth of our country.
Everyone knows that in 2019, RRB had announced recruitment under NTPC, however, the exam was
delayed and it is still incomplete.
After announcement of the result in 2022, it was seen that as opposed to the original notification of RRB to
call 20 candidates per post, RRB selected only 10 candidates. The present resistance is going on against
many such gross irregularities in RRB.
We demand that the police personnels responsible for such ghastly attack must receive exemplary
punishment, adequate compensation should be given to all those who are severely injured. Most importantly,
RRB-NTPC recruitment should be done under the stipulated time period, based on the Pre-decided
conditions and all other discrepancies in the recruitment process should be resolved.
Today, our organisation has protested in different parts of the country against this brutal police attack and
calls upon the students community to develop nationwide strong movement in support of the just demands
of the RRB-NTPC students.”
