Sourav Ghosh, General Secretary, AIDSO, All India Committee condemns the unscientific, superstitious and false statements of Ramdev against modern medical science and attack on Covid warriors in recent days. In recent years connivance of government has led to propagate many unscientific medicines and treatment for COVID-19. Covid warriors are working tirelessly day and night. At such difficult pandemic times such unscientific statements are derogatory towards modern medicine practitioners. Such developments are harmful towards scientific treatment of COVID-19. Common conscious people and health care workers are
worried at such developments. Government is indirectly standing as support behind Ramdev and hence no severe action is taken against him till now. As a result, arrogance of Ramdev is increasing day by day and is reached in such an extent that he commented, “Khair, arrest toh unka baap bhi nahi kar sakta Swami Ramdev ko”.
Along with it in recent times health care workers are attacked and harassed everywhere in Assam, in Karnataka and in other states also. Continuous false and derogatory statements and smear campaign against modern medicine and medical practitioners are creating an adverse environment for health care personnel to work. Strict action must be taken against the attackers
and security for health care workers must be ensured by government. At the same time infrastructure of health care facilities in all level must be improved adequately. AIDSO has given call for All India Protest Day on June 9th, 2021 demanding immediate severe action against Ramdev and ensure security for Covid warriors. AIDSO has also decided to launch
online signature petition to the Prime Minister against the above issues
