Sourav Ghosh, the General Secretary of All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), in a press statement, strongly condemned the heinous attack by the hooligans of ABVP on the guests and the organisers in an educational seminar at the PG Council Hall of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. While Professor Surajit Majumdar, an eminent professor of JNU was delivering his speech, these goons manhandled him as well as other educationists present on the spot.
It is not an isolated incident. To crush the movement against various educational problems and to implement the anti-education National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), RSS-affiliated ABVP goons have been attacking teachers, intellectuals, and educationists throughout the country. It is a well-planned fascistic conspiracy to destroy the democratic atmosphere of the universities and curb the right to freedom of speech.
Hence, AIDSO demands to take stringent action against the culprits involved in the incident. At the same time, we urge upon the real patriots of the country from all walks of life to raise their voices to protect the democratic atmosphere of the universities.
