The sad demise of educationist and valiant fighter, Prof. Anish Kumar Ray (General Secretary of All India Save Education Committee) has come as a shock for all of us. With a heavy heart the All India Committee of AIDSO expresses its heartfelt condolences to all the leaders, activists and friends of AISEC.
In our common struggle to Save Education from the attacks of commercialisation & communalisation, Prof. Anish Ray was a brave fighter and an inspiring personality to the student movement. With his demise the Education movement in India has lost a courageous fighter. AIDSO cherishes a long association with Prof. Anish Ray. We always remember his valuable guidance in combating several education problems. As a teacher & a professor, by his impersonal character, sacrifice, simplicity and passion for scientific knowledge Prof. Roy has inspired generations of students of presidency college to honestly work for the upliftment of the society. With his fragile health also he played a prominent role in developing a strong movement against the disastrous NEP 2020, it’s an inspiration for all of us. The Save Education Movement has lost a selfless and a dedicated fighter! Our deep respects to Prof. Anish Roy!
